Grades 10 & 11

International General Certificate of Secondary Education, is a course that can be completed over one year or 18 months, leading to external examinations marked by the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) Board. This is the 10th and 11th year of schooling and is equated by the Matriculation Board as the equivalent of Grade 11 (NQF3)

This course is aimed at students from 15 to 17 years of age who have usually completed either the Foundation course or grade 9. Students at this level usually choose between 6 and 8 subjects although 5 is the absolute minimum.

This course encourages learner-centred and enquiry-based approaches to develop learners’ skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving, giving students excellent preparation for the next stage in their education.
